As is tradition, Carine Bloemhoff, Alderman for Education & Employment and Chair of the Groningen Labor Market Region, will have a brief discussion with the day’s chair, Theo Laan, to outline the context. The labor market is undergoing significant changes and requires professional attention, cooperation, and adaptability from all parties.

Labor Market Advisor Erik Oosterveld (UWV) focuses on the regional labor market and looks ahead. Geopolitical developments, the rise of AI and other technological innovations, an aging population, and increasing absenteeism due to mental health issues are having a major impact on the labor market. These developments present challenges for employers, employees, job seekers, and the government. Especially in these uncertain times, adaptability is more important than ever.

Anna Noorda, director of VNO-NCW MKB Noord, shares her perspective on sustainable employability from an employer’s point of view.
