Workshop: Your Brain, Your Work (and Enjoyment)
Discover what you need to thrive at work
Do you ever find at work that the “standard” way of working doesn’t quite suit you? Or do you notice, while looking for a job, that organizations often don’t seem to be a good fit for you? More and more people are realizing how their brain influences their life and job satisfaction. In the workshop“Your Brain, Your Work (and Job Satisfaction),” you’ll learnover three half-days how your brain works and how you can use that knowledge in your current job or to find a job that’s a good fit.
The first session of the workshop will take place on Friday, October 30, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The next two sessions will take place on Friday, November 6 and 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
Does this sound familiar?
Maybe you get overwhelmed easily, find it hard to plan or organize, think at lightning speed, are bursting with creative ideas, see connections that others miss, need a clear structure, or find that collaborating in a busy environment takes a lot of energy. Maybe you’ve been wondering for a while why some things seem to come naturally to others, while you have to work hard for them? Maybe that’s because your brain works differently. This could be due to a form of neurodiversity, such as ADHD, autism, dyslexia, giftedness, or high sensitivity. Whatever it is, you’re not alone.
Understanding Your Brain
In this workshop, you’ll discover how your brain works and what you need to work comfortably, energetically, and successfully. Over the course of three interactive half-days, you’ll work with resources such as the Brain Manual. You’ll gain insight into:
- how your brain works and what unique characteristics it has;
- your talents, strengths, and weaknesses;
- the conditions under which you can best perform in the workplace;
- how to discuss your strengths, needs, and requirements in a clear and positive way with a manager, colleagues, or during a job interview.
For everyone
- This workshop is for anyone who wants to gain a better understanding of themselves. You don’t need a label or diagnosis to participate in this workshop.
- Are you already working? If so, this workshop can help you better organize your workspace to suit your strengths and needs.
- Are you looking for a job? If so, this workshop is a valuable first step. The insights you gain about yourself will help you get even more out of workshops such as “Cover Letter and Resume” or “LinkedIn and Networking.”
